I downloaded this app to be able to use for teaching classes and the audio does not work on any of my downloaded videos. They also need to add a download all option so you can download all segments instead of clicking each one, or better yet make it so you can choose to download each one or all at once. BIGGEST ISSUE IS OBVIOUSLY NO AUDIO FOR IPADS>.

I had to pay for my textbooks that are online only. This app doesn’t even work enough for me to log in. I don’t have access to my textbook for class. I tried calling for tech support and filing a ticket but they don’t have a solution.

I have tried more than two dozen rides to log into the app to review my materials. The app does not work on any apple devices. I seriously don’t understand how this app has such high ratings. Yes, devices are all up to date and on strong WiFi and still do not work.

i just bought the arabic version of heartsaver course but the videos included are not working !! even if downloaded

I thought it would be great to have Pears manual easily accessible on my phone, but regret buying the e book. App freezes, columns in tables are narrow so it’s hard to read text and no matter how I adjust settings nothing seems to get fixed. Seems buggy.

I bought the e book and could not download it nor appear in the app despite trying multiple time. Advise never purchase through them nor trust them

I have to renew my first aid/CPR for an event. Two choices: American Red Crossing Los Angeles 270 miles away, one-way or a first aid class with Mammoth Hospital (Elevate Mammoth) in Mammoth Lakes, California. Like a fool, I paid $60 for the Mammoth Lakes course which may or may not be canceled. Then $20.50 for the AHA (Texas) online course. Come to discover after five phone calls to five different AHA affiliates, that the required course book is now available through the AGA app except by purchase through yet another affiliate and is an additional purchase to the online book that can only be read in a browser. None of this is disclosed in the online documentation. Be forewarned. Take the sure thing and drive the extra 540 miles round-trip: American Red Cross. I’m so upset, I’m about to have a heart attack!

Can’t hear the video on app. Have to be online.

I love being able to access my life support materials electronically. However, they are very difficult to read in this format. It would be better if the life support cards were presented in the digital format with each page exactly as they appear as cards. As if I was simply looking at a screen shot or PDF version of the card, flipping through it page by page. Same problem with the ECC handbook.

Why would you limit viewing your ebooks to only your website or app unless it’s a pure money grabbing scheme?? Please the interface is horrible to use. Please just let us download a pdf and use our preferred reader.

Yeah apparently my first review was deleted because I used swear words in it which is a ridiculous reason to delete an honest review.Anyways, got referred to different numbers in “customer service” cause they refused to actually help me with my problems. Ended up figuring it out myself. I think it’s only fair i get a position in customer support for that reason🤷‍♀️.

Why is it so hard to redeem an access code

Another way for AHA to limit accessibility and increase revenue. If I had ANY other choice, I would use it.

I had the 2016 PALS card and it was great. It was just like having a hard copy. The 2020 card isn’t formatted correctly the columns aren’t spaced right and the Braslow card is portrait not landscape which makes it unusable. In an emergency where Im not at work and don’t have my card Im going to have to use the old one and remember the updates.

I’ve Never been able to get this app to work! 6 years! I try every year! You’ve waisted my money and time.

I was pleased with the app until the most recent update. Now I cannot open the app so it is useless.

This is the worst e-reader app I have ever seen. My book would not open offline after download. Embarrassing for an app that provides such critical emergency medical resources. It would make more sense to distribute these books via a reliable, existing platform such as Kindle. If you are considering purchasing AHA resources, I strongly recommend purchasing a physical copy.

Just buy the physical book I’d rather carve a page of text into my skin than use this dog water sorry excuse for an ebook reader from a clearly money hungry association that is that AHA, forcing every healthcare profession to buy their stupid Manuel they only use twice a year

really upset that i lost my 2016 ebook and and functioning eReader to this supposedly compatible download. the old book was still good for reviewing but why buy a new one if the app doesn't even work on my my IPad?

I downloaded the app. Then purchased the ACLS ebook on their site. Go back to the app, ebook isn’t there. Call back to support, 3rd time now. No one available. Have spent over an hour on this crap technology. For the amount they charge I expect better interface. Just buy the hard copy and wait for it in the mail. How is this app rated 4.8 stars???? Most of what I now see are 1 star and all the same issues. Your app is crap! Fix it please.

Can't get past the log in screen.

Cannot even get the app to log in using my information. It simply displays a loading image for all of eternity. I am using Safari to view the ebook instead, also a disaster and nearly impossible to view properly online.

Already purchased a book from the website but whenever I try to log in on the app it just loads perpetually and never logs in. Bummer, I really need this book for my class☹️

This app will not log me in, after several attempts on several days. I just keep seeing a loading screen. Therefore, this app is useless. Also, if you click on “App Support” it send you to the “Contact Us” page on the American Heart Association’s website. I could have done that, if I wanted to talk to someone about the AHA in general. I want to talk to someone about how to login to this app.

App doesn’t work on any Apple device. I tried it on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook and the app never got passed the sign on page. I contacted AHA support and they said to uninstall the app restart my device and reinstall the app. Did that on all three devices and nothing. Waste of time trying to get the app to work and waste of money buying the ebook.

App does not open on my iPad Pro or iPad 2019. It lets me initiate the process of logging in but just loads and loads without ever logging in. At least the android app lets me log in to see the book I purchased. A PDF option for the CPR book would have been far more helpful as I cannot actually access the book I purchased in my course since it cannot be downloaded from the website and this app does not work. Zero stars if possible, a really unfortunate waste of money for a book that is required for the CPR class but cannot be accessed.

I have issues with the app telling me “device limit reached” no matter what steps I take to fix it. Good thing I have wifi access at the class site.

This update that changed the interface fixed all the navigating issues I was having. Before, you couldn’t scroll or select an icon on the top menu without having to try several times or having it lose your place. It’s now simple to select which resource you wish to open and all the top menu items aren’t overlapping. Now it’s a easy to access resource.

Terrible app by all means, navigation is lame, no bookmarks for sections, slow, and difficult to read algorithms. Alas, hard copy of manual and card weren’t provided to me when I registered to PALS course! If you want to shift to electronic solutions please do it right or keep on old fashion!!

This is one of the worst ebook readers I’ve happened to use on my phone. The controls for it are place in a way you can’t use them. It is very hard to press the back button or any other button at the top of the screen. The ones that appear at the bottom of the screen are worst, don’t work at all. Anyone using an iPhone 12, I don’t recommend this app until they fix it. Hopefully it’ll be soon. Pretty disappointed with this app that is meant for education.

Doesn’t work. I was forced to buy this last minute for a class tomorrow, and cannot login to my account through the app or on any mobile device. Why can’t we just download a PDF file book? Get rid of this app, you’re stressing healthcare professionals out who just need to get their certs.

Will not load my purchases. Keep getting error message and then the ap logs me out. This happens over and over

Every time I open a book the app crashes and completely closes. This has only happened since I updated to the newer version. Now I can’t assess any of my books or cards.

The app was practically useless. I was not able to open the books which I had already downloaded on the 2nd day I had the app just before my class. It just kept shutting down. I tried re installing and signing in again without success. The support chat is a joke. I sent a message at 3 pm and there was no response till 2 am the next day. How is that helpful to have a chat with 12 hour response delay replying in the middle of the night and not even with any actual help. This needs some serious improvement. Not sure where the 5 star ratings are coming from.

There are no page numbers and trying to search for something is very difficult. How is this an improvement? It's also a waste of money. Might as well chip in with friends and buy the actual book!

I have an iPad and the videos will play but there is no sound. I have tried to re download the videos and the app as well. Still no luck. Is there anything else I might be able to do to fix this?

Some icons are hidden in white, navigation is a nightmare

I have excellent vision...but had to find an ancient magnifying glass to be able to actually read the algorithm components of my e-book because you can’t use the common iPhone capability of making the text view bigger by using 2 fingers to expand the content. I have an iPhone X. I have the same issue on my Apple notebook computer with this e-reader. If this issue can’t be fixed, I don’t know why AHA just can’t allow normal downloads into iBooks or Kindle (or other types of personal libraries). This is intolerable. Just get the hard copy book and algorithm pocket guides if you have the time to wait for them. If not — get a very good magnifying glass and good luck!! Forget using it clinically in an emergency due to this situation...unless you have a high quality magnifying glass in your pocket.

I purchased book for my ACLS class today. I’ve tried several times to open on my iPhone 10 but it simply doesn’t, keeps logging out. I tried on my IPad Air it does the same. Now that’s very disappointing.

If one cannot print the ACLS algorithms to use and take to class, then this renders the reader completely useless. The same is true of the eBook. What a complete waste of my time and resources. Next time I’ll purchase a used book. Thus, bypassing any monetary compensation to an organization that deems it necessary to control the copy that “I Own”!

I love that you can load books onto this app from iPad or IPhone. It’s a very nice feature!!

Although I would have preferred an eBook option that I could read with my existing eReader apps (e.g., Nook), they have created an app that functions perfectly well.

Books can never be read off line. It´s a rip-off. Get the hard copy of the book.

I wish I had seen these reviews before purchasing the ebook format. The app is glitchy, when content is accessible the pagination whereby each chapter is a single long scrollable page is extremely irritating and inconvenient. It is not at all like an ebook. The pocket card algorithms also suffer from terrible pagination- I cannot imagine trying to reference them in a code situation. I emailed the listed contact to request a refund. The manual is only necessary once every couple of years but the pocket cards are handy to have in my coat pocket. I hoped the e-version would be even more accessible since my phone is my pager, but no. I would rather carry the physics cards. Hope I can get my money back to purchase the hard copies.

This is not a good app.. you cannot downloaded or look at the books you paid for.

App works as intended, dont see why people are complaining. Its not buggy for me and as long as you download it you can read it offlinee. You must buy the book from their website. I dont believe you can buy a book from the app. I got the ACLS package and the books read and work fine. Update: After buying this book and using it to pass my ACLS it has been valuable for me to have it as an Ebook. Id recommend this to anyone as it works fine and as intended (and to save the space for carrying the book). If I had one suggestion I wish they would let me print the ACLS algorithms and ecards, but they don't let us.
